BEST APP FOR DRUMMERS!!!

This has been the best metronome Ive ever had! It can do so much! You can make it have a swing feel! Its better than my metronome at home!

Best in class

Simply the best metronome Ive ever owned - I was waiting for something like this to come out for ages!

Three Words

Best...App...Ever!!! I am absolutely amazed at the functionality of this inexpensive application. I am a band director/percussion teacher, and I will be using this metronome on a regular basis with my students, as well as in my personal playing. Its just fantastic!!

Bummer

I just had both ProTools and Dr. Bettote produce click tracks at 88 BPM. Dr. Bettote failed to stay on beat along side my ProTools rig. I may use Bettote for a rough BPM estimate, but nothing more.

Best app for musicians on the iPhone

This is as good as the real Dr. Betotte. I didnt realize it did so much before I bought it but I have never seen such a flexable & useful tool!!! BUY it..

Great Programmable Metronome!

Suggestion: better visual features. Perhaps allow a feature that can be turned on and off that allows the (blueish) screen to flash one color on beat one and another color on the other beats. This would give drummers the ability to place this metronome away from the drum kit and watch--the beat number is tiny and not useful for this purpose. This would be awesome at concerts where a click isnt practical. Great app.

Lots of flexibility

Would be great to add the "film/post" click. Cant seem to find a metronome that has that sound.

FINALLY AN EXCELLENT METRONOME APPLICATION

I teach percussion at 3 local high schools, and Ive been anxious for a GOOD metronome app. Until finding this, the other ones I had tried had all been pretty bad, but I couldnt be more satisfied with this app. Great UI, excellent features and performance, A CONSISTENT TEMPO (seemed to be hard to find until now). For all you guys who are holding off on metronome apps until theres one worth it, I believe this is that one.

Great app, but we need a update with louder volumes

This app is very convenient and close to the original Dr. Beat Ive had for years. The biggest drawback is that the volume even at max is hardly loud enough to be heard while playing wind instruments. Please give us an update with more dynamic range and it will be perfect!

Icon?

Tempos are sometimes a little bit unstable when compared to a dr. Beat but overall its a great app. Needs a professional looking icon for the price tag...

Very usable metronome app.

This a full featured metronome and well worth the money. We do need an update to allow for saving setlists for live performance and an increase in volume or compression. Landscape UI would help as well, allowing for power source to be connected while in performance.

Most full-featured metronome.

I love it. Users of Dr. Beat will too. The interface is cluttered and unattractive but it does it all, and does it better than other metronome apps.

Great Metronome, especially for Drummers!!!!

I love this metronome. It has all the features no other app has that a professional may need for practicing.

Dead On Accurate up to 110 bpm

At first I thought the review with the guy and his ProTools rig was just crazy – how could anyone who has a ProTools rig think that you could ‘sync it up by simply pressing the button at the right time? It’s impossible! (It’s like the guy who thought there was something wrong with the timekeeping of a band he was listening to in the car because the windshield wipers were not exactly synced with the music!) Also, if it is not loud enough, put headphones on! If that isn’t loud enough, hook it up to an amp! Sheesh! So, as I do with all my metronomes, I hooked up this metronome to a device dedicated to measuring the distance between pulses (The Groove Guide) and discovered that it was dead-on accurate (NO deviation) with quarter note pulses up to 110 bpm. Eighth note pulses were off by 1 bpm over 4 ticks, and 16th-note pulses were off by 1 bpm over 3 ticks, on average. On tempi above 110, I increased the tempo in 5 bpm increments and discovered that it was off by 2 ticks consistently at ?-note, 1/8th-note, and 1/16th-note settings. On one hand, if you can tell the difference, by simply listening, between 310 bpm and 312 bpm, you should work for NASA. On the other hand, how difficult is it to make a metronome which is dead-on over a spread from 10 bpm to 350 bpm? I know of only one other metronome app that is absolutely dead-on over that big a spread, with only a deviation of 1 or 2 ticks at the fast end of tempi. (If you are into metronome apps, you know which one I am talking about) I have been waiting for someone to make a metronome app with the old DB 33 sounds, and DB 66 sounds. The other extra sounds (Percussions, shaker, etc.) bring a ‘musicality’ to your practicing which is welcomed. Bravo! I give this app 4 stars. I’d give it 5 stars if it were more accurate on the upper tempi. As I said, I know it can be done as witnessed in the other metronome app. If you are a musician and you are looking for an app that will stand in for your Dr Beat, this is it. I know that accuracy can be addressed in a future update. Well done.

Great but...

I love this met but it really needs an update to solidify the tempo problems. Its great as a back up to my DB 90 but I would love to be able to rely on this

Essential Metronome

One of a kind metronome that has features not available in any other metronome app! For anyone who loves dr. beat, this is a great replacement/addition...thanks to Dr. Betotte i just replaced 4 hardware metronomes, including some costing over $150.. Dr. Betotte for mac is even better, but its great having the ipod version... Countdown timer, incremental tempos, easily mixable subdivisions, selectable swing percent- awesome! Sounds are really good also;

Great, but...

I love this app and use it daily in my band rehearsals and lessons. However, I have to say that I liked the older UI much better than this new one. Its too dark now and it just doesnt look nearly as nice as before.

Lot of functionality

This gives you a much more economical dr. Beat. On looping playlists, some times the beat sounds on the downbeat of the following entry rather than at the beginning. Adding reference tones and measured tone playlist for rhythmis tuning to a changing harmonic drone would be cool, especially if layered along with metronome.

Fixed!

Very happy about most recent update. I can see again! I still much preferred the old interface (not sure why that cant be an option in settings) but at least I can see what Im doing now. The ui is a bit messy with everything thrown together but still easy enough to use.

well done!

this version is a HUGE improvement from what it used to be. the new UI does a much better job of highlighting the essentials while still keeping extra functions in close reach. visually, the addition of the blinking red accent/beat lights at the top is a subtle but useful along with the pendulum. the landscape orientation does a perfect job of eliminating clutter and giving me a large and clear view of what I want to see/adjust. however there are a few small bugs/quirks I noticed. the biggest of which is how the playlist works... currently I have to enter the number of measures for each playlist entry and I dont count out the number of measures in my music. it would be helpfull to have a timer and also the ability to keep one entry on my playlist going until I stop it or select the next entry. also the pendulum sometimes goes in the reverse direction, and it seems like the visual beat counter switches a little late to each count. thanks for fixing the old UI in a timely manner!
